Searching bookmarks

If you can’t find the bookmark you want, Safari has a special search just for bookmarks.

To search for bookmarks:

Step 1

Click the open-book icon at the left end of the bookmarks bar.

Step 2

In the search bar above the list of bookmarks, click one of the buttons on the left.

To search in all the collections: Click All.

To search in a particular collection: Highlight the collection in the left column, and then click the button with the collection’s name.

Step 3

Next to the magnifying glass in the search field, type a word or phrase. Results appear as you type.

Alternative: Click the Spotlight icon in the upper-right corner of your screen, and type a word or phrase. A list of results appears as you type, including any bookmarks that match what you’re typing.
