If bookmarks are missing

Bookmarks may appear to be missing if you can’t see the entire bookmarks bar. You may also be prevented from adding a bookmark to the bar.

Try these tips:

The bookmarks bar may be hidden. Open the View menu. If one of the options is Show Bookmarks Bar, choose it.

The Safari window may not be wide enough to see the entire bar. Try making the window wider.

If angle brackets (>>) appear at the right end of the bar, click them.

If you still can’t find the bookmark, it may have been accidentally removed. You’ll need to add it to the bar again.

If you can’t add bookmarks to the bar, parental controls may be turned on. Speak to the person who maintains your computer.

If you expect to see websites from your address book listed as bookmarks and they’re not there, you may need to change your bookmark preferences. Choose Safari > Preferences, click Bookmarks, and make sure “Include Address Book” is selected.

If you’ve set Safari preferences to include websites from your address book, and you still don’t see address book websites, you may need to adjust permissions to let Safari use your address book.
